Itinerary: 11 Days Tour from Marrakech to Casablanca & Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Arrival to Marrakech.

Merzouga Morocco Tours guide will meet you at the Airpot and transfer you directly to your accommodation.

Day 2: Marrakech - Tizi N'Tichka - Kasbah Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate.

Leave Marrakech at 8:00 in the morning to walk the imposing High Atlas mountains through Tizi n’Tichka (alt 2260 m). We will stop to enjoy breathtaking scenery and visit the argan oil cooperative. After lunch in a local restaurant, we will have the afternoon to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben Haddou. We will have a night at the hotel.

Day 3: Ouarzaazte - Todra gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga.

We leave in the morning, we leave Ouarzazate towards  Todra Gorges, one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons of Morocco. This makes it a serious place for half-day and full-day hikes and interesting canyons for serious climbers. From the gorges of Todra, we head towards Merzouga through arid landscapes and many palm oases. We go through Erfoud or what we call the fossil capital as it is well known for its fossil factories where they make beautiful shapes and pieces of mountain rock. Then we will head to the Erg Chebbi Sand Sea. You continue deeper into the desert landscape, until the dunes appear in the middle of nowhere, at night, then you climb on the camels in the bivouac (field) under the stars of the sunset shining in the clear night sky. Climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before retiring to its bed on a nomad tent.

Day 4: Visit Merzouga.

We will explore the small villages around the dunes of Erg Chebbi ( Hassi Labied, Mardani, Khamlia, M’fis ) on our way to Khamlia, we hope to meet the inhabitants by showing their desert foxes. You can also find reptiles.

Day 5: Merzouga - Ziz Valley – Errachidia - Midelt.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will pass by Rissani and Erfoud stopping at Midelt, the Atlas Mountains, for lunch. Then we’ll explore Midelt at your own pace, or retire to a local hotel where you’ll spend the night.

Day 6: Midelt – Azrou Forest – Ifrane – Fes.

Today, we will explore more of Midelt, then head to Azrou, where we will stop to explore a forest station and possibly feed the wild monkeys that live there. Then we will continue to Ifrane, then Fes, where we will spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 7: Guided tour of Fez.

Today we will explore the oldest city in Morocco and enjoy walking through its alleys and alleys. The tour includes the Royal Palace Gate and tours of the Jewish Quarter to other places of cultural and historical interest, including Al Qaraouine University, tanneries and the Mulay Idriss Mausoleum. You can spend the afternoon exploring the fascinating medina before dining in a local restaurant. We will spend the night in Fez in a local riad/hotel.

Day 8: Fes – Chefchaouen.

After breakfast, we will head north to explore a very different culture and lifestyle from Morocco. Chefchaouen, the blue city, is nestled at the foot of the Rif mountains from which the name Chaouen «horns» was adopted, because of the shape in the upper part of the mountains. It was founded in 1471 as a small fortress by Moulay Ali Ben Musa, a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. Chefchaouen fell under Spain’s occupation and was enfranchised in 1956. It is known as the blue city for its traditional buildings. We will have fun walking to explore the washed white and blue walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique indigenous crafts.

Day 9: Chefchaouen – Asilah.

After breakfast at the Riad, we will begin our tour of the blue city in Tangier, where we will stop for lunch, then we will visit the beautiful beach in stoping in the cave of Hercules. Arriving in Asilah, you will quickly notice the Roman, Portuguese and Spanish influence of its architecture. We will visit the media, famous for its 15th century Portuguese walls, after which you will have time to enjoy the sunset on the beach.

Day 10: Asilah – Rabat – Casablanca.

After breakfast, we will drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where we will see the Hassan Tower, and the Oudaya Kasbah and after lunch, we will drive to Casablanca, where you will see the Hassan II mosque, which is the largest mosque outside Mecca and you will experience the Atlantic coast «Cornwall»

Day 11: Airport Transfer.
