Itinerary: 6 Days Desert Tour from Marrakech To Fes

Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi N’ticka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Boumaln Dades.

It all starts with a pick-up from our meeting place in Marrakech, the first day of the 6 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes. Going up, we will cross the pass of Tizi Ntichka (200 kilometers long), which offers a panoramic view of 2260 meters high. We will make a small stop at the cooperative that produces argan oil for cosmetics, where we will rest a little and learn how they do it. For example, the Game of Thrones and Prison Break programs were shot in the vicinity of Ouarzazate. In this city we will have lunch before continuing our journey to the gorges of Dadès, where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Dades Valley - Tinghir - Todra Gorges- Erfoud - Erg-Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga).

After breakfast, we will begin our tour from Ouarzazate known as the “Gate of the Sahara Desert” to Merzouga. We will stop to discover the beautiful architecture of the Taourirte Kasbah located in the city of Ouarzazate. After that, we will drive on the road of thousands of Kasbah, Rose Valley, Dades Valley, and Todra Valley. We will enjoy the green view full of palm trees and almond trees.

Later we arrive at Todra Gorge a cold and natural place with its orange cliffs, the canyons of Todra Gorge are almost 1000 feet deep. In addition, it is a favorite place for climbers, and we will take the time to discover this incredible place. In the afternoon we continue to the Sahara desert with many Berber villages like Tinjdad, Melaab, and Erfoud. We will have free time for lunch, before arriving at the magical land of sand dunes, Dinner, and spend the night in a hotel/ or riad in Merzouga.

Day 3: Desert Excursion - Merzouga Lake - Khamliya Village - Nomad Family - Camel Ride and Desert Camping Night.

After breakfast, we will begin our journey around the sand dunes Erg-Chebbi. We will explore many interesting places in the region such as Lake Merzouga (not always full of water) to see the next bird species (ducks and flamingos) that come to live in this lake, especially in the spring. We will visit the village of Khamliya, where we will listen to African music (Gnawa) performed by people from Black Africa, then we will continue our visit in the black desert behind the sand dunes Erg-Chebbi. We will visit an abandoned village where mineral fossils work, then we will visit a nomadic Berber family to see the way of life.

We will return to Khamliya for a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will begin the adventure of camel riding, through the beautiful sand dunes and unique orange for the desert field. A great experience where you can feed your soul and enjoy the beautiful sunset amidst the dunes. Dinner and evening will be at the camp, the music you play and you can have fun in the sand dunes under millions of stars.

Day 4: Merzouga - valley of Ziz - Middle Atlas - Midelt - cedar forest - Meknes

In the morning, your camel driver will wake you up early and climb the sand dunes to see the beautiful sunrise. After breakfast and shower at the camp, you will return by camel to the village of Merzouga while returning, you can not fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi. Travel to Rissani, where we will walk around the famous, traditional, and largest market in the region to discover local products and crafts. It’s best to explore Rissani Souk on one of the following Days: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. These three days are souks, so it’s a good day for desert people who want to go shopping.

Then, we continued our way through the villages of Erfoud and Aoufous to reach the valley of Ziz located in the city of Errachidia. It is a large valley, we will definitely stop to enjoy the green oasis full of thousands of palm trees. After that, we will continue in Midelt through Errachidia and the plateau of the Middle Atlas Mountains Tizi N’talghoumte passes (1907m), we will visit the cedar forest where many wild monkeys live in this place, then we will cross El Hajeb to reach our destination that Meknes where you will have the accommodation.

Day 5: Meknes - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss - Chefchouen.

After breakfast, we will leave Meknes to Chefchaouen by discovering the historical monument of Volubilis and Moulay Idriss, we will continue our way through the landscapes of the Rif Mountains to reach the blue city called Chefchaouen, this city is one of the famous places in Morocco, its walls are painted with blue colors, they painted with this color to keep mosquitoes away from the city. spend an overnight in this beautiful city.

Day 6: Chefchaouen – Fes.

After breakfast, we will explore the old town of Chefchaouen, which is a very popular Moroccan tourist attraction located in the Rif Mountains.
