Itinerary: 8 days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech.

We will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the Riad, located right next to the Jemaa el Fna square, the most important square in the city, where the public life of Marrakech takes place both day and night. an overnight stay at the Riad/hotel.

Day 2: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Tizi Ntichka - Telouat - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate.

We will pick you up at the Riad at 08:30 and leave towards the south crossing the High Atlas by the port of Tizi Ntichka with 2.260m of altitude. We will stop in the panoramic areas, you can contemplate landscapes of great chromatic diversity and make incredible photos.

We will arrive at the village of Telouat where we will visit its kasbah and eat in a typical restaurant in the area. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey through numerous villages.

Berbers where families live in lost adobe houses in the mountains. We will arrive at “Ait Ben Haddou” one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in Morocco, is the fortified city where films like “Gladiator” “The kingdom of the Heavens” or “Sahara” were filmed with Penelope Cruz. It has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

We continue towards Ouarzazate, the name of this city has its origin in an Arabic phrase that means “No noise”. It is known as “The Hollywood of Africa” its architectural wonders have been the scene of many famous films over the last 50 years, in the city, there are several movie studios among which are one of the largest in the

world, the Atlas Studios where films such as “The Jewel of the Nile” “Asterix and Cleopatra” or “The Ten Commandments” were shot.

Dinner and accommodation will be at a Riad/hotel.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Roses Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga.

After a rich breakfast, we will leave towards the Valley of Roses, with its intoxicating aromas is formed by hectares of roses whose aroma is appreciated throughout the month of May. Here you can immerse yourself in a dazzling and charming landscape. The cultivation of roses, the distillation of essences, and the production of perfumes are the most important industries of this place, and the palm grove of Skora enjoys a contrast of mountains and villages with adobe kasbahs.

After several stops we will reach the Todra Gorges, the riverbed of the Todra River has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty, a unique place. It is the paradise of climbers.

After eating in a typical local restaurant we will continue our journey to the desert of Merzouga.

We will rest a little and invite ourselves to a rich hospitality tea at the hotel where we will leave our bags. You will have the possibility to climb to the

immense Dunes of Merzouga and enjoy the incredible sunset. Dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga Desert.

This stage is the most important in this tour: Today we get to learn more about the life of the Nomads in our off-road excursion to the breathtaking Erg Chebbi where we will visit the Nomad families who migrate and live in tents, attend an African folkloric music/ dance performance in Khamlia village (former slaves of the sultan of Marrakech in 1590), and walk in a desert oasis where we learn about the irrigation system of the area, visit the lake with the pink flamingos in full desert. Late afternoon you will mount camels for what is the highlight of many people’s trip, camel ride, and an overnight in a traditional Berber tent.

Day 5: Merzouga - Taous - Ouzina - Ramlia - Tafraouite Sidi Ali.

In the morning we will start our 5th day from Merzouga through Taous, then we will arrive at Ouzina and Ramlia to Sidi Ali Tafraouite where we will have the night there. We will drive through the Mountains of M’Harech and Tafraouite Sidi Ali to The Kasbah Marabout where you will spend your great night.

Day 6: Tafraouite Sidi Ali - Oumjrane - Zagora - Tamnougalt – Agdz

After breakfast we will drive through Oumjrane to Zagora, we will have lunch there before continuing our way to Agdz. After your Lunch we heading to Tamnougalt, It is a kasbah and date palm oasis in the Atlas Mountains and is located in the Draa River Valley in Morocco, about 75 kilometers south of Ouarzazate. The village is a short distance from Agdz and has a famous kasbah. The Jbel Kissane rises to the north overlooking the landscape. Spend a night in Agdz.

Day 7: Agdz - Ait Saoun - Ouarzazate - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After breakfast, we head to Ouarzazate through Ait Saoun, a collection of mountains that have Zigzag Roads, then we will arrive at Ouarzazate to visit the cinematography museum of Ouarzazate, and walk in the footsteps of many famous actors.

The road then continues along the Ounila valley, with beautiful and prosperous villages, stunning mountains, and views of traditional Berber architecture. Lunch will be in the mountains. We will arrive in Marrakesh at night and it will be the end of our private visit to Morocco. Have a nice trip back home.

Day 8 : Marrakech - Menara Airport

You will have breakfast in the Riad and you will be able to rest and enjoy the city the hours that are left before your flight. We will transfer you to the airport at the agreed time ending our journey 8 days from Marrakech to the southern desert of Morocco.
