Itinerary: 3 Days sahara desert trip from Fes to Merzouga

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest ( Azrou ) - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga

in the early morning of Our 3 days Tour from Fes to Merzouga desert, our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Fes and will leave for the south of Morocco. You will stop for a short break at Ifrane, known as the little Swiss of Morocco to enjoy its beauty and have memorable photos. Then he will head to Azrou to see the monkeys in the cedar forest. We continue to the town of Midelt for lunch in a restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will cross the Tiz N’Talghamt pass to reach Errachidia while admiring the view of the Ziz gorges. Later you will have a stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. The driver goes to the dunes of Erg Chebbi crossing Aoufous and Erfoud, which is known through its fossils and dates, you can go to a fossil craft workshop in Erfoud.

Then you will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, these dunes are also called Merzouga dunes. Arrive at the hotel or riad where you will dine and spend your first night.

Day 2: Tour around Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we will start our journey around the sand dunes Erg-Chebbi. We will discover many amazing places in the Merzouga area such as the Lake which sometimes gets dry in the summer, you can see the types of birds (ducks and flamingos) that come to drink water or to live in this lake, especially in spring. We will visit the village of Khamliya where we will listen to African music (Gnawa) played by people originating from black Africa, then we will continue our off-road tour towards the black desert behind the sand dunes Erg-Chebbi. We will visit an abandoned village where mineral fossils work, then we will visit a nomadic Berber family to see the lifestyle.
We will return to Khamliya for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will start Camel Trekking Adventure, through the beautiful unique orange sand dunes in the desert camp. A great experience where you can nourish your soul, and enjoy the wonderful sunset in the middle of the dunes. Dinner and evening will be in the camp, music plays and you can have fun in the sand dunes under zillions of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Errachidia - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes

On the morning of the last day of our 3 days desert tour from Fes to Merzouga, we recommend waking up early for a beautiful sunrise. So take a shower and have breakfast at the camp. After that, you will travel by camel or you will move by car if you wish to the village of Merzouga, where you will meet your driver-guide. Then we leave the Sahara desert and go back to reach Fez “the spiritual city of Morocco” again with stops along the way to enjoy wonderful panoramic views to take pictures and free time at Midelt for lunch. When you arrive at night in Fez we leave it in your accommodation and at the end of our 3 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert.
