Itinerary: Marrakech to Ouarzazate Day Trip

We will start our full Day Trip from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou at 8:00, traveling Ouarzazate. Along the way, enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and visit the Berber villages dedicated to the sale of semi-precious stones. As we move south, the mountainous landscape turns into semi-desert. In this area, we will visit the famous Kasbah, and discover small typical houses built with mud and straw.

Arriving in Ouarzazate, we will visit the ancient Kasbah Taourirt and the kasbah d’Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved fortified towns in the country. Its unique architecture and ambiance make it the ideal choice for shooting many movies and series. Some of the movies and TV shows in which we saw this fantastic kasbah include Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel, Prince of Persia, The Mummy, and of course, Game of Thrones (it is the city that Daenerys Targaryan launches in the last chapter of the third season).

In addition, to complete this tour from Marrakech to Ouarzazate & Ait Benhaddou, we will visit the Atlas Films Studios, where many scenes of the mentioned films have been recorded. We will have the opportunity to discover the cinematographic importance of this region of the country. Entrance to the kasbah is free, but if you want to explore it with a guide, you have to pay separately at the moment (about 2 € per person).
